Hometown
I grew up in Rochester, NY. Bustling metropolis of the upstate region, and home to such megacorporations as Kodak, Xerox and Bausch and Lomb. My parents were both from Calcutta, and moved to Rochester before I was born. The first seven years of my life were spent in a suburb called Webster, after which we moved to yuppyville (also known as Pittsford) for the school system.
There isn't much to say about Rochester, actually. Sorry.
Education
I graduated from Pittsford Sutherland High School in 1999. Three years later, I recieved my BA in Biophysics from Johns Hopkins University. Now I am at the University of California at Berkeley, working to get my PhD in the Molecular Biophysics program.
Interests
Obviously, I'm interested enough in science to make it my life's work. That's probably not very interesting to anybody else here, though. My hobbies include futzing around with computers (both hardware and software), rock climbing, writing, video games, card games and board games. I also like sharp cheddar cheese and unfiltered sake.
My favorite bands include Collective Soul, Green Day, Stabbing Westward and KMFDM, in that order. I like everything a little, though. I can listen to country, hip-hop or rock.
Startling Good Looks
This is going to have to remain hearsay, for now, as I can't find a current digital picture of myself.
